Yom Yahweh - The Day of the Lord

Chapter 7: Yahweh and His Conquering Messiah in the Yom Yaweh

Isa.   28 :2      See, Yahweh has one who is powerful and strong…

:5      IN THAT DAY Yahweh will be a glorious crown, a beautiful

wreath for the remnant of His people.

32 :1      See, a king will reign in righteousness and rulers will rule

                                    with justice.

By placing the advent of “The Redeemer” in the future, 1 Paul once again denies that Yahweh (The Redeemer) had already come, according to Isa. 40:3 and the Gospel introductions.  In fact, Isa. 40 and Isa. 59 describe exactly the same event.  Isa. 59 to 66 may even be ascribed to a different author - a post Babylonian 3 Isaiah.( 1 Isaiah pre Babylonian, 2 Isaiah intra Babylonian)  There are profound similarities between Isa. 40 to 42 and Isa. 59 to 62.  Both sections portray the advent of Yahweh followed by the introduction of His Conquering Messiah.

We have already seen the guilt/sin of Israel having been paid for in Isa. 40:1,2 - and seen the relevance of the Guilt Offering of the Suffering Servant of Isa. 53 in this regard.   Then the advent of Yahweh (explicitly described as “the Redeemer of Israel”) in Isa. 40:3 and onward, followed by the introduction of the Conquering Servant in Isa. 42.  Let us see how these are presented in Isa. 59 to 61.

Isa.    59 :16     He saw that there was no one, and he was appalled that there was

no one to intercede; so His own arm worked salvation for Him

and His own righteousness sustained Him.

(Isa.   53 :1       Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm

                                    of Yahweh been revealed?

:2       He (the arm) grew up before Him (Yahweh) like a

                                    tender shoot…

:3       He (the arm) had no beauty or majesty...

:4       He (the arm) was despised and rejected by men…

(“The arm of Yahweh” is then the Suffering Servant of Isa. 53

who would bring the Guilt Offering at the price of 30 shekels.)

It is difficult to come to terms with the Rabbinic/Yeshiva position that this “Suffering Servant” of Yahweh refers to the nation of Israel and not to a person.  This notion would mean Am Israel (the people of Israel) would suffer a corporate sacrifice for their own salvation.  The context of Isa.52:13 through 53 seems rather to indicate a single person - who would be “crushed for our iniquities.”

So it would appear that this same “arm of Yahweh” would work salvation for Him

(“…His own arm…” Isa.59:16).  It seems clear that this “salvation” has to do with the

guilt/sin that separates Yahweh from His people, and does not refer to their re-

establishment as a nation ,which Yahweh, their Redeemer, will accomplish when..,

Isa     59 :20     The Redeemer will come to Zion…

Isa. 60, which follows, is a glorious description of that future restoration of Israel and must be read in the context of our present discussion.  The highlight in this regard is the presence of Yahweh in a manner which we cannot possibly understand in our present frame of reference.

Isa     60 :1       ...and the glory of Yahweh rises upon you… (Compare Isa. 40:5

“And the glory of Yahweh will be revealed….”)

:2       “…but Yahweh rises upon you and His glory appears over you.”

:13     “…to adorn the place of My sanctuary; and I will glorify the

                                    place of My feet”

:16     “...Then you will know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior, your

Redeemer, the Mighty one of Jacob”

 Compare this with:

Joel   2   :27     “Then  you will know that I am in Israel, that I

am Yahweh your God, and that there is no other.”

3   :15     The sun and the moon will be darkened, and the stars

                                    no longer shine.

3   :17     “Then you will know that I,  Yahweh, dwell in Zion, My

                                    holy hill”

This again is borne out by

Isa.    2   :2       In the acharit hayemim - latter days - the mountain of

Yahweh’s temple will be established as chief  among

                                    the mountains.

Isa.    2   :3       Many peoples will come and say; “Come let us go up to

the mountain of Yahweh, to the house of the God of Jacob.

He will teach us His ways…”

It would appear that “the delay”, to be revoked in Rev.10:6-7, has also intervened between Isa. 59:16 (the “arm working salvation” ) and Isa.59:20 (advent of Yahweh, the Redeemer), in the same way as it had done between Isa. 40:2 and :3.

Redeemer Yahweh and His Conquering Messiah according to the prophets.

 a.  Isaiah

b.  Ezekiel

c.  Zechariah

d.  Malachi

e.  Paul and Isaiah.

f.  Revelation

a.  Isaiah

Let us compare the similar introductions of the Conquering Messiah from Isa. 42 and Isa. 61, which follow from Isa. 40 and 59, 60 respectively.

Isa     42 :1       “Here is My servant whom I uphold, My chosen one in whom I

delight; I will put My Spirit on him and he will bring justice to the

                                    nations.

:2       He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets.

:3       A bruised reed he will not break, and a smouldering wick he will not

                                    snuff out.  In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;

:4       He will not be crushed or be disgraced till he establishes justice

on earth.  In HIS TORAH the islands will put their hope”

:6       “I, Yahweh, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of

your hand.  I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for

the people and a light for the Gentiles,

:7       to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to

release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.”

Isa     61 :1       “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has

anointed me to preach good news to the poor.  He has sent me to bind

up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and

                                    release for the prisoners,

:2       to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour, and the day of vengeance

of our God, to comfort all who mourn,

:3       and to provide for all who grieve in Zion...”

:4       They will rebuild the ancient ruins..., they will renew the

                                    ruined cities...

:6       And you will be called priests of the Lord, you will be named

ministers of our God.  You will feed on the wealth of nations...”

Comparing these two sections it seems obvious that they speak of the same person - a future deliverer Messiah who will come with Yahweh.  You may ask; how then could he be born in Bethlehem?  As the story unfolds, this too will become apparent.

The New Testament writers Matthew and Luke use these Scripture references and apply them prematurely to Jesus.  And they are decidedly dishonest in their applications.  Matthew applies the first section (Isa.42) and (conveniently?) omits a crucial statement that no one would notice unless checked.  It changes the meaning and identity of the person:

Matt. 12 :18     “Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom

I delight; I will put My Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to

                                    the nations.

:19     He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear his voice in the streets

:20     A bruised reed he will not break, and a smouldering wick he will not

                                    snuff out………………………?………..............................................

………………………………..?...........till he leads justice to victory.

(“In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; HE WILL NOT FALTER  OR BE CRUSHED” - this vital statement is omitted from the text)

:21     In his NAME (should read: “In HIS TORAH”) the nations will put their hope.

In this manner  the New Testament writers frequently misrepresent the Scriptures and produce slanted versions of what is said, misleading unsuspecting, sincere people.  This misquote causes two distinct misrepresentations:

  1.  The omission of  “He will not be crushed” removes the definitive distinction between this Conquering Servant and the Suffering Servant, the latter of whom is said:

Isa.    53 :5      “But he was pierced for our transgressions, HE WAS CRUSHED for our iniquities”

By removing this most distinctive statement from the original Scripture, Matthew wants us to believe that the Suffering Servant, who will be crushed, and the Conquering Servant, who will NOT be crushed, are actually the same person and that, somehow, they are both Yahweh, whom he introduced through “one calling in the desert…”.

 2. By substituting “his Torah,” with “his Name”, Matthew has completely changed the very basis of our faith.  If he was to be the anointed servant of Yahweh, why would his “Torah” be      any different from that of his Master?  Torah is Torah and always will be.  The Spirit in him would not abolish Torah, but would support it.  The Suffering Servant,  also anointed, would also subscribe to Torah  - as any Spirit endowed individual should be.  How can the Church possibly say “we are not under the law but under the Spirit”?  It is a contradiction in terms as we have seen.  And, how can the Church say “Jesus has delivered us from the law”?  Instead of being a Torah observant community, 1 Jesus Christianity has become a personality cultgoverned, not by Torah, ...but by his name.

Luke, on the other hand, omit’s a vast, equally important, part of the second section (Isa. 61), likewise changing the meaning of the original Scripture.  He has 1 Jesus say the following (Yahweh, introduced as 1 Jesus, could not possibly say the following of Himself):

Luke      4        :19        “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to

preach good news to the poor.  He has sent me to proclaim freedom

for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the

                                    oppressed.

:20        to proclaim the year of the Lords favour………?………………....

                                     ………………………………................................?........................”

He fails to complete the quote; the very profound results of “the day of vengeance of our God”.  He could not very well quote it, for history shows that the exact opposite happened - even in his time.  Nevertheless, this mis-quote, as does that of Matthew, creates a flawed impression of who the two Servant Messiahs are.

b. Ezekiel

Ezek.39  :8b    “…..This is the day I have spoken of”

43 :4       The glory of Yahweh entered the temple (Ezek.40-43) through the

                                    gate facing east.

:5       Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court,

and the glory of Yahweh filled the temple.

:7       He said “Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the place for

the soles of My feet.  This is where I will live among the Israelites

                                    forever.”

44 :3       The prince himself is the only one who may sit inside the gateway

to eat in the presence of Yahweh”

Who is the Prince?  Ezekiel tells us in Ezek. 34:24 and Ezek. 37:24,25

Ezek.  37 :24        “My servant David will be king over them…”

: 25     “...and David, My servant, will be their Prince forever”

This is the Davidic Messiah, who will sit on the throne of Israel as seen by Jeremiah

(Jer .33:15-17).  Is this Prince, in the presence of Yahweh, then not the fulfilment of Psalm 110?

Ps.110   :1       Yahweh said to my lord, “Sit at my right hand until I make your

enemies a footstool for your  feet.

:2       Yahweh will extend your mighty scepter from Zion; rule in the midst

                                    of your enemies.

:3       Your troops will be willing in your day of battle...”

:4       Yahweh has sworn and will not change his mind:  “You are a priest for

ever, in the order of Melchizedek (Malki Tzedek = king of righteousness)

:5       Yahweh is at your right hand, He will crush kings on the day of His wrath.

This is a description of an earthly situation, and not a heavenly one, as the New Testament writers would have us believe in their effort to explain the heavenly rule of 1 Jesus - starting with Peter (Acts 2:34).

What is Matthew trying to imply with this Ps.110 by the mouth of his 1 Jesus?

Matth.22:42    “What do you think about the Messiah? Whose son is he?”.   “The

                                    son of David”, they replied.

:43     He said to them, “How is it then that David, speaking by the Holy

Spirit, calls him ‘Lord’? for he says,

:44     “The Lord said to my Lord: ‘Sit at my right hand until I put your

                                    enemies under your feet’”.

:45     If then David calls him ‘Lord’, how can he be his son?”

Is he trying to say that the Messiah is not David’s son, in order to support his divinity theory?  (More of this to come). The first “Lord” is Yod hey vav hey (Yahweh) and the second is “Adoni”, which is a title for a very important person.  Yahweh is not saying to Yahweh (Himself) - “Sit at my right hand.”  Why then his lengthy genealogy of Jesus if he did not believe that the Messiah was the son of David?

Now we know that Melchizedek was both a “king” (of Salem) and “priest of God Most High” (Gen.14:18).  In studying the Prince in Israel, through the vision of Ezekiel, we find that he will also be king (Ezek. 37:4) and a priest, as he will perform priestly duties, providing sacrifices for the various appointed festivals which will be restored.  He will also make sin offerings for himself! (Ezek. 45:7, Ezek. 17, Ezek. 22, Ezek. 46:2, 4, 9, 10, 12, 16-18)

Ezek 4 :17        It will be the duty of the Prince to provide the burnt offerings, grain

offerings, and drink offerings at the festivals, the New Moons and the

                                   Sabbaths…

:22     On that day the Prince is to provide a bull as a sin offering for

himself and for all the people of the land.

His ministry of king and providing priest will supplement the work of the Levites of the Zadokite Priesthood (Ezek. 43:19), who will be performing the tasks.  The Prince himself will be from the tribe of Judah.

Ezek.43  :19     You are to give a young bull as a sin offering to the priests, who are

Levites, of the family of Zadok, who come near to minister before me

                                    (Jer.33:18), declares the Sovereign Lord.

The Prince will indeed be a Son of Man, and not a God!

This study of Ezekiel’s Prince in the presence of Yahweh, following the events of “the Day of the Lord”, together with that of Ps.110, seeks to support the construct of the two sections of Isa. 40/42 and Isa. 59/61, the latter as presented by 1 Paul in his letter to the Romans (Romans 11:25-27) - all in the future.

All of this will sound very strange to the “civilized” Greco-Roman Christian ear.  It is not strange to the Bible, which confirms it elsewhere.  What does Zechariah say?

c. Zechariah

Zech 3   :8b     “I am going to bring My servant, the Branch”

6   :12     This is what Yahweh Almighty says; “Here is the man whose name is

the Branch, and he will branch out from his place and build the temple

                                    of the Lord.

:13     It is he who will build the temple of the Lord, and he will be clothed

with majesty and will sit and rule on his throne.  And he will be a priest

on his throne.  And there will be harmony between the two.

Zech   9  :14     Then Yahweh will appear over them; his arrow will flash like lightning.

Sovereign Yahweh will sound the trumpet.

:16     Yahweh their Elohim will save them on that day.

10 :4       From Judah will come the cornerstone…

There will be no conflict between this Davidic Messiah kingship and priesthood, nor with the Levitic Priesthood, which will reside in the house of Zadok.  From this study it can be seen that this expected Branch/Prince/Davidic Messiah does qualify for the title of  “High Priest in the Order of  Melchizedek” in “the Day”.  This title is prematurely ascribed to Jesus to explain his “Heavenly Rule” over the “Kingdom of Spiritual Israel” - the Church (Matth. 22:41-46; Hebr.7:17).

The letter to the Hebrews has a pathological aversion to Torah, Mosaic Covenant, Priesthood and the Temple Order that begs a response, as Yahweh says that, parallel to His eternal, unbreakable covenant with the house of David regarding the Davidic Messiah, He has an equally unbreakable eternal covenant with the house of Levi, who will never fail to have a man serve before Him every day (Jer. 33:17-26).  The unknown author of this letter finds himself in an unrecognisable and impossible latter days, pre-Yom Yahweh, Torahless “kingdom”, which he tries to explain.

Hebr. 1   :2       but in these last days (acharit hayemim)...

10 :25     Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of

doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you

                                    see the Day approaching

Our study of The Day of the Lord has shown that the Latter days kingdom does not appear before Yom Yahweh, but flows from it.  The unknown author of Hebrews has attempted to create a Torahless, “New Covenant” kingdom in a non-existent, pre-Yom Yahweh last days position, in the absence of Israel.  This is in complete contradiction with the Gospels who depart from Yom Yahweh having come.

Who are these “Hebrews” to whom this virulently anti-Torah letter is written?  It is a letter which contends that the Mosaic Covenant is mere shadow, fading away and useless.  It is a letter that contends that Yahweh had to change Torah to replace the Levitic Priesthood with the Melchizedek Priesthood.  All of this, in spite of Yahweh’s declared eternal and unbreakable covenant with the Levitical Priesthood and its parallel co-existence with the Melchizedek Priesthood of the Prince in Israel, as described by Ezekiel!  Could this “Hebrews“ community be the first Jewish Church under Ya‘akov (James), of whom he (James) says “all of them are zealous for Torah”, and who are participating fully in the temple service, presided over by the Levitical Priest (Acts 21:20-26)?  What would this community have done with this letter?  They would have burnt it!

Hebr. 8  :13      By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one

(Mosaic Covenant) obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will

                                    soon disappear.

Acts 21 :20     “...You see, brother (Paul), how many thousands of Jews have

believed, and all of them are zealous for Torah.”

Hebr.  7:12      For when there is a change of the priesthood, there must

also be a change of law.

One of the many characteristics of the false Messiah is that “he will try to change the set times and the laws” (Dan.7:25).

Jer.    33 :20     “If you can break My covenant with the day and My covenant

with the night, so that day and night no longer come at their

                                    appointed time,

:21     then My covenant with David My servant - and My covenant with

the Levites who are priests ministering before Me - can be broken.

And the sun and moon - faithful witnesses - still appear at their appointed times.

Hebr.     10      :5          Therefore when Christ (1 Jesus) came into the world, he said:

“Sacrifice and offering you did not desire….”

Mark 1   :44     Jesus (2 Jesus) said “Go show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices

that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them”

They are patently not the same person.  The three Messiahs will discerned shortly.

d. Malachi.

Mal. 3   :1       “See I will send My messenger, who will prepare the way before Me.

(All first person). Then suddenly the lord (adoni) you are seeking will

come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire,

will come.”says Yahweh Almighty.  (Yahweh clearly discerns between

                                   Himself and His Conquering Messiah)

:2       But who can endure the day of his (third person) coming?  Who can

stand when he appears?  For he will be like a refiner’s fire and a

                                    launderer’s soap.

:3       He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he (the “Prince”) will

purify the Levites (the “Zadokites”) and refine them like gold and

silver.  Then Yahweh will have men who will bring offerings in

                                    righteousness,

:4       and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to Yahweh,

as in days gone by, as in former days.”

The two main characters, in their highly specific context, cannot be represented by 1 Jesus as presented by the Synoptic Gospels and adopted by the Church.  There will have to be a temple which will have had to have been built by “the Branch”,  before being taken up into heaven (Dan.7:13,14; Rev.12:5) - for him to return to.  Evidence of such a temple in the day is found in Joel and Revelation”

Joel   2   :11b   The day of the Lord is great; it is dreadful.  Who can endure it?

:17     Let the priests, who minister before Yahweh, weep between the

                                    temple porch and the altar.

Rev   11 :1       “Go measure the temple of God and the altar, and count the

worshippers there. (After the preceding signs in Rev.6:12-14 and

revoking of the “delay” in Rev 11:6b)

There is no evidence of an ANTI-CHRIST in this temple, as the Church has deducted from 1 Paul’s 2 Thess. 2:3-4.  What  did Paul have in mind? Did he not conclude - even before the destruction of the temple by Titus in 70 CE - that the temple is not a building, but the community of believers?

2 Cor.6  :16     What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols?

For we are the temple of the living God.  As God has said; “I

will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their

God , and they will be My people”.

 This is a direct quote from Leviticus 26:12.  Yet, typical of the New Testament writers, this is again a misrepresentation of what Yahweh said, which is;

Lev.  26 :11    “I will put My dwelling place (temple) among you, and I will not

                                    abhor you.

:12    I will walk among you and be your God and you will be My

                                    people”.

This is the first of the numerous prophetic statements to this effect, which we have studied - the most famous being Ezek. 43:4-7.  They are all in line with Malachi, Joel and Revelation.  Paul quite plainly misquoted Yahweh’s statement in Leviticus.  He exhibits a position of Torahlesness and, in the process, misled the Church - also in creating a  perception of an “Anti-Christ who will build the temple and set himself up as though he is god” - in the future.  If we read 2 Thes. 2:3-4 (the man of Torahlessness in God’s temple before Yom Yahweh). together with 2 Cor. 6:16 (we - the Gentile Church - are the temple of God), we have to conclude that the rebellion of Torahlesness will be perpetrated by a “godman” in the Church - a man presented as God before Yom Yahweh, as though Yom Yahweh (and Elijah) had in fact come.  A false “god” of “lawlessness” in the “temple” already anticipated in his time by 1 Paul.  Thus  past and present and not in the future where the world keeps looking for him.

What will the Church do if one with authority does stand up in Israel and builds the temple on Mount Zion - to the chagrin of Islam?  The Church keeps looking for an external “Anti-Christ” figure in the future, while it may well have harboured him in its midst for nearly 2000 years - a figure of its own creation.  More about this elusive “Anti-Christ” figure and all his characteristics later.

e.  Paul and Isaiah

We have seen that Yahweh, when he comes in the future (Isa. 40:3-5) will introduce His Conquering Messiah (Isa. 42:1-7).  Exactly the same sequence of events are presented by Isa. 59 and 61.  1 Paul presents this in Rom. 11:25-27 as a future event.

Isa.    59 :20     The Redeemer (Yahweh) will come to Israel.

61 :1       The Spirit of Yahweh is upon me, because Yahweh has anointed me

to preach good news to the poor...

1 Paul sees these as future events.  We have seen how Luke presented these as a past or completed event in Luke 4:19.  Yet, Luke does not explain to us how, having introduced Yahweh and having called him Jesus (1 Jesus), there is also an anointed Conquering Messiah (3 Jesus) who is separate from Yahweh.

Rom. 11 :26     And so all Israel will be saved (future), as it is written;

“The Deliverer (Yahweh) will come from (to?) Zion; he

will turn godlessness away from Jacob”. (Isa.59:20)

1 Paul has to say to 2 Paul;  For all Israel to be saved in the future, the integrity of Brit Milah - Circumcision Covenant - is of paramount importance.  How can you deride people for upholding it?’ (Gal:6:11-15).

f. The Revelation

Rev.  11 :15     The seventh angel sounded his shofar, and there were loud voices in

heaven, which said; “The kingdom of the world has become the

kingdom of our Yahweh and His Messiah.”

12 :10     Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say; “Now have come the

salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the

                                    authority of His Messiah”.

Both these verses are spoken at the culmination of the last 1260 days of Daniel’s 70th week - the “delay” having been revoked (sixth shofar), at the rapture of the Conquering Son of Man/Male Child (Rev.12:5,6).  It is the time of the terrible and glorious Yom Yahweh ...in the future.
